I really need help with color use. What is the IEEE Brand blue formula? How about accent colors? Our program logo includes colors that are not the IEEE Brand blue. What is allowed?
The approved IEEE “Brand Blue” is color Pantone 3015 blue.
Why blue? The use of blue in company branding evokes feelings of trust, confidence, dependability and stability—aligning with our organization’s overarching mission and vision. It represents our promise of “unmistakably IEEE” products, programs, services, events, and platforms. The IEEE blue should be the main color for all corporate-level communications and threaded throughout our brand entities to tie in to the parent brand. An expanded color palette is made available to further distinguish IEEE brand extensions, such as our Societies and Councils, publishing platforms such as IEEE Xplore® and IEEE Access, networking sites such as IEEE Collabratec, and our various branded properties and portals, such as IEEE Future Directions, IEEE Learning Network (ILN). Consistency in color application helps to maintain a cohesive visual brand footprint in our global presence.
If you are in need of specifics on the correct IEEE blue, or if you need to know more about color formulas for print and digital communications, you can find several useful tools and resources to suit your needs on the IEEE Brand Experience site.
