Siteimprove is a full-featured, web-based tool that crawls websites and reports back on quality assurance issues such as broken links, potential misspellings, and accessibility issues measured by the Web Content and Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Currently, Siteimprove is offered as two versions:

1. License based, full suite of site maintenance tools and reports

On June 5, 2018, the international Web Accessibility Initiative announced version 2.1 of its Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. With the release of this update, there is no better time than now to make sure that your site content is optimized. Siteimprove is one of the recommended tools that can be helpful for addressing WCAG 2.1 criteria as it provides error reports and possible solutions to fix the errors. Siteimprove automatically sends reports on site health to site owners. The web-based software has the ability to prioritize or categorize errors by identifying errors according to expertise needs. The tool also indicates how much gain in ‘point rankings’ the site will get if an error is fixed – this is helpful in prioritizing fixes.

2. Free accessibility checker, Chrome browser extension
The Siteimprove Accessibility Checker is a free tool available as a Google Chrome Extension. This extension can check any web page for accessibility issues, provide easy to understand explanations for the issues detected, and provide recommended solutions for fixing the errors.

All analysis is done entirely within the Chrome browser, allowing secure evaluation of password-protected or non-public pages, multi-step forms, and dynamic content.

Download the free Chrome browser extension and analyze the accessibility of your web pages today!
