Recent website launches—IEEE Brain
Site name: IEEE Brain
Launch date: 25 March 2022
Site purpose: The IEEE Brain Technical Community website underwent a recent redesign in order to enhance usability and highlight key content. The new site focuses on clear navigation with multiple opportunities to link to events, media, publications, and resources. Prevalent use of white space and images offers a contemporary design in line with the cutting-edge focus of the community. Podcasts are now embedded on the site for ease of listening, and the BrainInsight newsletter was upgraded with a new look and searchable functions. The overall purpose of the site is to engage interest in brain-related activities across IEEE and serve as a resource for relevant content in areas of neuroscience and neurotechnology.
How does this affect the IEEE digital presence? The goal of the redesign was to present a range of content in a manner that is easily navigated by the user, while offering a pleasant user experience consistent with the IEEE brand. By reorganizing and highlighting key information, the site has progressed from a state where information was often difficult to find and access. The redesigned website more clearly represents the focus of the IEEE Brain Technical Community and offers avenues to explore brain-related resources including podcasts, webinars, publications, as well as upcoming events.
